The grand opening of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Bark Park was ‘un-leashed’ at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area on Saturday July 10. We could not have wished for a more beautiful day with at least 100 dogs, a great crowd of people, BBQ by the Bradford Lion’s Club as well as a fundraising raffle (focused on man's best friend of course).
Foundation Executive Director Cheryl Taylor introduced Town of BWG Mayor Doug White and Town Councilor John McCallum who both had many positive things to say about the new projects in Scanlon Creek Conservation Area. John Brown, LSRCA Coordinator for Conservation Areas, cut the ribbon and the Scanlon Creek Bark Park was officially open for “dog business!”
Many thanks to Brenda Winter, who coordinated the whole project, and Liz Dokurno to assisted her. The new 3.2 acre off leash dog park was made entirely made possible by donations from our Foundation, Global Pet Foods, Pet Value, Dissette Animal Hospital, Paws to Claws and Thunders Run. Thanks as well to volunteers, Chris Dokurno and Alex Castagna who helped make this event special.
