Our Building

Located within the Mabel Davis Conservation Area, our main office at 120 Bayview Parkway in Newmarket incorporates our former building as the north wing of the complex, and continues to take advantage of the natural beauty of the surrounding land. Our building was expanded in 2005 to accommodate our need for more workspace for our growing staff.

  • Siting of the building's new wings has minimized the removal of trees and taken advantage of the natural sunshade to minimize summer heat retention.
  • Water efficiency inside in the building is complemented by native plants on the grounds to minimize the need for irrigation.
  • Beyond taking advantage of the site's natural characteristics for energy efficiency, the building features alternative energy technologies, such as geothermal heating and solar panels, and a 'green roof.'
  • Construction materials include engineered wood, a product that utilizes a wood manufacturing by-product diverted from the waste stream.

All of this contributes to a space designed to be barrier-free throughout the main level, conducive to a community culture, healthy for its occupants, and designed to achieve silver certification as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building.
