NEWMARKET – Did you know that a single tree will absorb one ton of carbon over its lifetime? Come out and plant a tree, have plenty of fun, and help enhance the environment all in one place this spring!

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and the Town of Newmarket, supported by the Suncor Energy Foundation and Earth Day® Canada, are hosting a community tree planting event on Sunday, May 2, 2010. This rain or shine event will be at the Environmental Park on Woodspring Avenue (off Bathurst, just north of Highway 9) in Newmarket, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Festivities will include tree planting and a variety of family activities, a barbeque, displays and entertainment.
