Watershed Wide – October 9, 2024 – At its 42nd annual Conservation Awards ceremony, held at NewRoads Performing Arts Centre on October 8, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority celebrated 22 incredible individuals, businesses, and groups who are working hard to improve our environment.
“As we face growing environmental pressures, it’s encouraging to see local leaders taking proactive steps to create lasting change,” said the Conservation Authority Chair and City of Barrie Councillor, Clare Riepma. “Their actions are making a tangible difference, fostering a future where environmental stewardship is not just a goal but a shared reality.”
The Conservation Authority Chief Administrative Officer, Rob Baldwin added, “This event is an opportunity to recognize the remarkable efforts of those who are pushing the boundaries of environmental progress. Their work serves as a catalyst, inspiring others and strengthening our community’s commitment to protecting and enhancing the natural spaces we all depend on.”
