Nominate someone making a difference in the Lake Simcoe watershed by June 5, 2026.
Lake Simcoe watershed, Ontario – April 27, 2026 – The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is inviting nominations for the 44th annual Conservation Awards. Launching during National Stewardship Week, the awards highlight the many ways people are taking action to protect the land, water, and communities we all depend on.
For more than 40 years, hundreds of individuals, groups, and organizations have been recognized for their contributions to a healthier watershed. This stewardship shows up in many forms — from restoring habitat and protecting water to planting trees and bringing communities together. Often, this work happens quietly, but its impact is significant.
“The Conservation Awards celebrate the people behind this work, many of whom aren’t doing it for the recognition,” says Kyra Jessup, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority Communications Advisor. “These efforts — big and small — add up to lasting impact across the watershed. We’re proud to help shine a light on the individuals and groups making such a positive difference.”
Nominations are open until June 5, 2026.
The Conservation Authority encourages residents, community groups, municipalities, and organizations to nominate people and groups that are helping protect and restore the watershed.
