Roll up your sleeves and dive into a full-day of hands-on learning using the latest techniques in Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) applications! 

At this workshop, you’ll learn from some of the leading ESC companies and practitioners about their innovative products and how they’re applied on slopes and swales including:

  • Silt socks
  • Straw waddles
  • Spring berms
  • Hydraulic Mulches
  • Waddle fencing
  • Biodegradable erosion blankets
  • Turf reinforcement mats

WHEN: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Workshop Location: 3281 Yonge St., Bradford, Ontario, Scanlon Creek Conservation Area (See the map below). Parking is free.

 

Please Note:

Attendees are eligible for 4 continuing development hours with the Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) & Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (APEO).

Schedule:

8:30 am to 9:25 am: Attendee sign-in and light breakfast 

9:30 am to 10:30 am: Hands-on application of ESC products

10:30 am to 10:55 am: Morning break

11:00 am to 12 pm: Hands-on application of ESC products 

12:00 pm to 1:25 pm: Lunch and discussion with industry leads 

1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: Hands-on application of ESC products 

2:30 pm to 2:55 pm: Afternoon break

3 pm to 4 pm: Hands-on application of ESC products 

4 pm to 4:15 pm: Closing Remarks

Required Safety PPE:

  • Safety boots
  • High visible clothing (e.g. reflective vest)
  • Construction hard hat
  • Work gloves
  • Protective eyewear

Optional things to bring:

  • Insect repellant
  • Sunscreen
  • Reusable Water bottle

Food:

  • A light breakfast and BBQ lunch will be provided on site.
  • Beverages and water refill station available throughout the day.
