Lake Simcoe watershed, Ontario – May 2, 2024 – The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is seeking watershed-wide nominations for the 42nd Annual Conservation Awards.

Last year, we proudly acknowledged the efforts of 19 outstanding individuals and groups across the Lake Simcoe watershed. Their activities included tree planting, stormwater management, habitat restoration, community events, and initiatives enhancing private properties to protect our waterways.

“We are continually inspired by the commitment and dedication of those who work to safeguard the health of our watershed for both current and future generations,” says Katarina Zeppieri, the Conservation Authority’s communications advisor. “Whether their efforts are big or small, together their contributions enhance the greater good of our environment. It’s these remarkable individuals and groups, displaying environmental heroism, whom we want to honour and celebrate.”

If you know someone making extraordinary contributions to the health of the Lake Simcoe watershed, we encourage you to nominate them. The process is straightforward and easy.

The deadline for nomination is June 5, 2024. For eligibility criteria and the award nomination form, visit: www.LSRCA.on.ca/conservationawards.

Our mission is to collaborate to protect and restore the Lake Simcoe watershed with innovative research, policy, and action.
